Wanneroo Senior High School has been involved in the IDEAS (Innovative Designs for Enhancing Achievements in Schools) process since 2006. This program is run through the University of Southern Queensland and involves staff, students and parents involvement in developing a framework to enhance our school.

The IDEAS vision is ‘to inspire IDEAS schools to engage in a journey of self-discovery which will ensure that they achieve sustainable excellence in teaching and learning’.

Staff from WSHS have attended two study tours in Victoria and Queensland in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Staff visited schools from these states and attended forums with staff from across Australia. Our staff were able to bring back a wealth of knowledge on the latest teaching strategies and ideas to Wanneroo and implement these into our curriculum.

Wanneroo SHS in the process of beginning to embed our vision and values into all aspects of school life. Working with staff and students we have developed a school vision of -

‘Star in your future’

A list of core values has also been developed which we believe the school is aspiring to achieve.

Our values are our STARS acronym.
